QuickSword3
Known bugs and Features
Opening a database
The function for opening a database is not operating properly.
After attempting to create a database or opening a database, the
database might not open. The current solution is to close QuickSword,
then run QuickSword again. This is currently a low priority fix
because most people will only ever use one database.
Bible search by text
QuickSword has a known flaw. If you search for something common such as "the",
you should expect a very long delay due to the fact that nearly every
scripture contains the word "the". QuickSword will respond with the hour
glass cursor. Clicking on the program will cause the title bar to say (Not Responding).
You can wait it out, or forcefully close the application and re-open.
Displaying of copyright messages font size
The font size for copyright messages displayed on the projector can
be adjusted in the settings. Accepted values are currently set to
a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 25 while testing. Once testing is
complete, the minimum and maximum values will be adjusted. The method
for choosing the size of the font is being debated between pixels or points.
(similar to miles vs kilometers or celcius vs farenheit)
Printing of songs and bible presentations
The ability to print has been on my do list as an obvious feature
since I first started this project. This still remains a very
low priority. However a feature to export your songs titles,
or your entire songs database to a text file has been added.
You can open the text file with a word processing program and
print.
Additional bible translations
The new bible database functions are still being tested, and once that has been
completed, several bible translations will be made available for QuickSword3.
The current list includes AMP, FLS, KJV, LBLA, NASB, and NBLH. I will add others
as I obtain permission from the copyright owners, or when I can determine that
a translation is in the public domain.
